For the European Heritage Days, culture is open to all, the weekend of 19h and 20th September 2015 for the 32nd edition with the theme "Heritage of the XXI century, a future history." Every year approximately 16 000 public and private sites will be open and free for the public...
Unusual places and iconic monuments will compete of creativity to offer you.
We have selected for you some essential:
 
§  Orgue à la Basilique Saint-Michel
The organ Merklin visits at the Saint-Michel Basilica followed by an organ concert by Paul Darrouy at 6pm
Saturday 19th Septembre 2015 at 2:30pm, 3pm, à 3:30pm and at 4pm
Visits by groups of 10 people every 30 minutes
 
§  Porte Cailhau
Self-guided tour of the monument that was once part of the city walls, and visits of the exhibition "City of Bordeaux stone collection Missègue Jean (1931-2009)".
Saturday and Sunday from 10am to noon and from 1pm to 7pm
Visits by limited groups of 20 people every 30 minutes
 
§  Archaeological Site St. Seurin
One of the oldest witness of the Bordeaux’s History..
Saturday and Sunday from 10am to noon and from 1pm to 7pm
Self-guided tour by limited groups of 20 people every 30 minutes
 
§  Wine and trading museum :
Immerse yourself in three centuries of history and trading of wines, and the vibrant quai des Chartrons from 1803 through a virtual painting animation of Lacour.
Saturday and Sunday from 10am to 6pm.
 
§  Grosse Cloche
This defensive monument, whose bells punctuate the Bordeaux life since the 13th century, also were a prison.
Saturday and Sunday from 9am till noon, and from 1pm till 7pm
Limited groups of 5 people every 30 minutes
 
§  Rohan Palace (Hôtel de Ville)
This iconic monument was built in the 18th century to the Archbishop of Bordeaux, and then City Hall in 1837.
Saturday from 2pm to 6:30pm and Sunday to 10am until noon, and 2pm to 6:30
Guided tours by the Tourist Office guides, by limited groups of 20 people every 45 minutes.
 
 
No reservations to visit the monuments, unfortunately the queues will be part of the day.
